Acoustic Trance System

(ongoing research)

Over the past years, my work has moved toward a radical reduction of musical material.

The Acoustic Trance System is an evolving practice built on repetition, pulse, sustained tones, and modal restraint. It does not aim to reproduce a tradition, nor to hybridize styles. It focuses on structure — how minimal elements, held over time, can generate intensity.

This research emerged through long-term engagement with modal music from Iran and Baluchistan, and through years of touring where physical endurance and repetition became central to my language.

At its core lies a simple conviction:

Intensity comes from persistence.
Not from complexity.

Energy & Form

The system is acoustic.
It relies on breath, friction, vibration, and time.

Cyclical rhythms are sustained until they become physical.
Drones are held until they begin to alter perception.
Melodic material is reduced to its essential cells.

The objective is not spectacle, nor virtuosity.
It is immersion.

A shared state built through attention.

Migration & Responsibility

My work acknowledges that music constantly travels — across borders, bodies, and instruments.

I often engage with musical forms that are not originally mine, using instruments that were not designed for this music. Rather than seeking purity, I work through transformation and adaptation.

Tradition is not preserved — it is activated.

From Film to Autonomy

After fifteen years composing for cinema and touring internationally, I am developing this system as an autonomous practice.

Film scoring sharpened my sense of tension, space, and duration.
This project extends that sensitivity into a purely acoustic environment.

No image.
No narrative.
Only sound unfolding in time.

Core Elements

• Cyclical pulse
• Sustained drone
• Modal reduction
• Long-duration repetition
• Acoustic physicality
